Ken Bryson - Level 3 Coach
Ken Bryson brings over 30 years of coaching expertise, beginning his journey with cycle coaching and working with athletes at every level, from beginners to Commonwealth Games competitors. A highly qualified coach, Ken holds certifications as a Level 3 Triathlon Coach, Cycling Club Coach, Athletics Level 1 Coach, and Swim Smooth Affiliate Coach. He is also actively involved in the Triathlon Scotland Academy pathway, where he supports developing athletes.
Passionate about helping others improve, Ken specializes in applying his extensive running and cycling knowledge to bike fitting and run technique analysis.
Kevin Watson - Level 3 Coach
Kevin Watson, a Level 3 Triathlon Coach, brings a wealth of expertise in swim coaching, analysis, and physiology testing. Despite not coming from a traditional sports background, Kevin discovered triathlon as a way to boost his fitness—and quickly became obsessed with the sport. Over the past 16 years, his passion has only deepened, driving him to develop his knowledge and work with athletes at all levels.
Kevin’s approach is grounded in a commitment to helping others truly enjoy the swim, bike, and run experience, and he’s always eager to share his insights to support athletes’ growth. Kevin also coaches within the Triathlon Scotland Academy, helping to develop up and coming youth and junior athletes.
Sean Murphy - Level 2 diploma Coach
Sean explored many sports but never found one that truly resonated—until later. Fitness, however, was always his passion. At just 14, he started a fitness group with friends, sparking a drive to stay active that’s never faded. As his children grew older, Sean reignited his love for fitness by joining a local cycling club, which soon led him to triathlon. Though he and his wife shared a love for running, triathlon opened up new possibilities. She took up cycling, and, after some convincing, Sean eventually dove into swim training—and was instantly hooked.
As a coach, Sean is driven by the same excitement he felt when he first started. He finds immense satisfaction in helping athletes discover the joy of pushing their limits, not only in competition but in personal growth. Whether it’s crossing a finish line or simply improving fitness, Sean believes in the power of sport to transform both body and mind, and that’s what fuels his passion for coaching.
Claire Murphy - Level 2 diploma Coach
Claire began her athletic career as a competitive swimmer but found her true calling in coaching, inspired by a passion for helping others thrive in the sport. Her unexpected journey into triathlon started when a group of triathletes encouraged her to give it a try—and from her very first race, she was captivated by its welcoming, inclusive community. Initially focused on coaching swim sessions, Claire’s role quickly expanded to include running and cycling, allowing her to guide beginners and young athletes on their fitness journeys.
Currently serving as the head coach for Ythan amateur swimming club, Claire’s approach to coaching goes beyond teaching technique; it’s about inspiring athletes to challenge themselves, discover their strengths, and foster a lifelong love for sport and she continues to empower athletes at every level to unlock their true potential.
Ewan Stirling - Level 3 Triathlon Coach
Ewan, based in Inverness, brings a wealth of expertise to his coaching with over 15 years of experience and a solid educational foundation as a Level 3 Triathlon Coach and a BSc in Sports Science. As a UKSCA-accredited physical preparation coach, Ewan has worked with athletes at all levels, from beginners to those competing in Iron-distance events. His impressive coaching portfolio includes coaching for Para Triathlon at the Commonwealth Games, working with the Triathlon Scotland Academy Squad, and serving as a Coach Tutor with Triathlon Scotland.
Ewan’s approach centres on getting the fundamentals right, believing that the triathlon journey is all about embracing the process. By building a strong foundation, he helps athletes maximize their potential and fully enjoy the sport.
